As a little girl, I would watch my mother knit for hours. The way the yarn moved from the skein to her fingers and needles was fascinating. At 9, I started knitting with her guidance. Initially, I could only make squares and rectangles. Over time, I enjoyed creating garments, blankets, and Christmas stockings for my family. They often encouraged me to sell my work.

During COVID-19, I retired from teaching, moved to Delaware with my family, and started Patti Kelly Knits. I began by selling Christmas stockings at art fairs and gradually built an inventory of high-end fashion items. I also started designing patterns. Now, I sell my finished pieces at local art fairs and online.
